In a desperate attempt to prove that a late colleague was innocent of treason, a young scientist undergoes an experiment in which his five senses are reduced to nil. Dr Longman, after a long period of isolation which he is suspended in a tank of water four hour after hour, vanished into a world of his own and is 'persuaded' to change his most fundamental beliefs.
