Elizabeth Taylor plays Marina Rudd, a washed up English actress whose attempts at a comeback are plagued by a mysterious incident from her past. Making a new film in a small rural village, Rudd's already precarious mental state is thrown into further disarray by a series of murders. The incomparable Miss Marple (Angela Lansbury) arrives on the scene with her nephew, Inspector Craddock (Edward Fox) to investigate the deadly goings on.
