Kassie (Jennifer Anniston) is a successful, fun-loving single woman who feels she has one thing missing in life, a child. Despite the disapproval of her friend Wally (Jason Bateman) she decides she doesn’t need a partner to get pregnant and makes the decision to conceive with the help of sperm donor Roland (Patrick Wilson). So Kassie moves away and makes a new life for her and her child unaware that best friend Wally has drunkenly switched the donation with his own!

Seven years later and Kassie is back in the city with her son Sebastian and reacquaints with Wally and gives him a chance to meet her son. But as the two start to get to know one another things start to feel all too familiar and Wally starts to piece together his drunken night before Kassie left town.
