    Description

    Release Date: 07 May 2007

    The Thing (1982):
Horror-meister John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape From New York) teams Kurt Russell's outstanding performance with incredible visuals to build this chilling version of the classic The Thing. In the winter of 1982, a twelve-man research team at a remote Antarctic research station discovers an alien buried in the snow for over 100,000 years. Soon unfrozen, the form changing alien wreaks havoc, creates terror and becomes one of them.

The Thing From Another World (1951):
An American scientific expedition, set up in the North Pole, discovers a UFO crashed in the icecap. Inside is a frozen extra-terrestrial visitor. The scientists take the ice block back to the military station, but the heat brings the alien back to life... Although the production was achieved by this faithful editor Christian Nyby, The Thing from Another World is, without a doubt, the product of Hawks creative genius. The director applied his lucid classicism, witnessed in His Girl Friday and Red River, to a brand new genre. In this story, which illustrates the conflict between scientific curiosity and the protection of humankind, Hawks' sets up the foundation of science-fiction movie-making, influencing a myriad of directors, including John Carpenter, who remade it as The Thing in 1982 and who provides an insightful commentary on this edition.
