    Description

    Release Date: 21 August 2006

Beginning with the forty minute version of Dumplings that includes newly shot footage as well as that taken from the feature length release, director Fruit Chan explores society's obsession with youth and the lengths to which people will go to prolong it.
The second segment is Box, a ritualistic tale of a female novelist who is haunted by a childhood trauma, directed by the cult legend Takashi Miike. Narrated almost without words amongst a series of eerie locations, the film has all the hallmarks of its director.

The collection concludes with Cut, directed by the irrepressible Park Chan-wook, the story of a film extra with a grudge who forces a good-natured director to prove that deep down he has a nasty streak.

Quite simply Three Extremes is an excellent showcase for the three of Asia's most talented film makers.
