    Description

    Release Date: 17 May 2004

Starring Michael Elphick as Sam, Angela Thorne as Daphne, Ray Burdis as Nick and Lysette Anthony as Angie.

When young couple Angie and Nick Taylor decide that two's no longer company enough, and bring a new baby into the world, they soon realise that love isn't all you need. So, to address their new financial situation, they decide to rent out their basement; a sensible and prudent enough decision.

However, the basement is coveted by both Nick's father Sam, and Angie's mother Daphne, and so the only acceptable solution is for them to share. The trouble is, they're not ideal housemates - poles apart would be a more apt description; she's a very proper and country born Cheltenham lady, and he's a somewhat coarse cockney. But, proximity does seem to make the heart grow fonder, and it's not long before Sam starts to look at Daphne in that special way. But for how long can this situation remain a one-way street? Will Sam's amorous intentions ever be reciprocated? Or is this one diamond that's just too rough for the refined lady to bear?
