Mother of three Rhoda Bradley (Tamzin Outhwaite) is stuck in a dead end job as a supermarket check-out assistant and is desperate to do something worth while with her life before it is too late. When her daughter Lexie is taken
to hospital with appendicitis, the hospital visit inspires Rhoda to dramatically change her life and train to become a doctor.
