WInter Solsticecenters around the families who meet under tragic circumstances. When recently bereabed Elfrida Phipps moves into a cottage she befriends her neighbours, the Blundells.
The Blundells then suffer a tragic accident and the group all decide to decamp to a house on a Scottish Estate, along with Carrie, Elfrida's niece. Carrie then meets Sam again - he is a businessman who, strangely, she had already met on a plane while fleeing from heartbreak in Austria.
Summer Solstice continues their story on the wild Scottish Estate as they try to rebuild their lives, start a business and come to grips with Highland life.
