Sight Training, an innovative game from Namco, allows players to find out the age of their eyes and improve it with a number of fun mini-games.

Officially called Sight Training: Enjoy Exercising and Relaxing Your Eyes, this title does just what it claims to: exercises and relaxes the player’s eyes. The game is endorsed by famous Japanese eye professor Ishigaki Hisao, and he has influenced all of the mini-games on offer. Each strives to strengthen focusing ability through short and relatively simple mini-games. These are split into two groups: Core Training and Sports Training, each providing different benefits. Core Training is reminiscent of a visit to the optometrist, with simple focusing exercises, while Sport Training involves sport themed games such as Table Tennis, Basketball and Baseball.

All interactions are performed with the DS’s unique stylus and touch screen capabilities, making for intuitive gameplay. As mini-games are completed, stamps will be collected and these allow more activities to be unlocked. Once enough of these have been completed the player’s eye age will be calculated and will either please the player or show that they have much more work to do.

Sight Training is a fun title that also provides crucial exercise for our eyes, something that is often overlooked.
