With an elite strike force in tow, players must lead a campaign to save Sub-Sector Aurelia from its own destruction. In the 41st millennium, ancient alien races fight to dominate this small region of space. The Dawn of War series is far more action-orientated than more traditional real-time strategy titles, allowing players to fight with brutal hand-to-hand combat, as well as in epic scale battles. This sequel is also far more accessible to newcomers, allowing players to work at their own pace and develop their squad’s skills and abilities gradually. The entire single player campaign can also be played through co-operatively from any point in the game’s main storyline.

A player’s customisation and upgrades will now carry over between missions, allowing persistent levelling and special upgrades to be unlocked progressively during play. Unique weaponry and items can be equipped to each member of a player’s squad.
