Bolt PS2

Heroic canine Bolt is given his own video game in this Disney title based on the blockbuster computer animation.

Players can fill the shoes (and paws) of both Bolt and his companion Penny, working their way through five different environments inspired by the television series often referenced in the film. Players will move across the globe, hitting well-known locations such as China, Russia and Italy on the way to stopping the evil Calico from destroying the world as we know it. Special moves and abilities for each character are on offer, including Bolt’s laser vision and sonic bark, and Penny’s computer hacking skills. Each unique skill will be needed to traverse certain levels or solve basic puzzles on the way to facing Colico.

Bolt works to blend a number of well-known gameplay types into one title, including action and puzzle solving, as well as more traditional combat and platforming elements. With cinematic camera angles and set pieces on offer, Bolt manages to carefully recreate the tense, fast-paced feel of the action animation on the small screen.

Rather than simply recreate the film in its entirety, Bolt takes its inspiration from the most exciting elements of the film, creating a solid children’s action game in the process.
