Mutant killing machines in a highly detailed world, Dark Sector is a fear-inducing third person shooter from acclaimed developer Digital Extremes.

Set in the fictional Eastern Bloc country of Lasria, Dark Sector puts the player in the role of Hayden Tenno, a covert operative with congenital analgia, a disease that means he does not feel pain. On a dangerous mission to expose a Cold War secret, Heyden is infected with a deadly virus that turns its victims into ruthless mutated killers. Only his right arm is affected initially, and this grants him the power to create and unleash a deadly glaive at will. The player must deal with the effects of the virus on Hayden’s mind as he grows more powerful from it, but less able to control it.

Gameplay takes the form of a third-person shooter with the main focus being on the glaive that is part of Hayden’s body. This is used to kill enemies and can be carefully aimed, taking out single limbs if required. There is also a multiplayer mode, where players can take advantage of skills learnt in story mode and unleash them in online play.

A worthy horror shooter, Dark Sector will please fans of the genre with its original storyline and innovative combat.
