Roobarb is a simple minded green dog, who lives in a small but cosy house somewhere in suburbia. Next door lives Custard, a rather naughty-minded fat, pink cat, who is always ready to laugh and make fun of Roobarb if at all possible.

Roobarb's idealistic outlook on life and his subsequent contact with reality is both poignant and amusing. Children can at the same time sympathise with his lack of experience and laugh at him too.

Custard is a typically loveable bully who is not above siding with Roobarb as well as against him, if the odds are favourable!

Watch Roobarb as he gets up to all sorts of adventures including entering a competition to win a fishing holiday; putting on a puppet show; planting some pretty flower seeds for the summer; and building an earthquake survival machine to cure his hiccups! But when Custard is around, nothing ever goes according to plan.
