Based loosely on Conan Doyle's 'The Dancing Men', this excellent Holmes mystery introduces the character of Inspector Lestrade (Dennis Hoey) to the Basil Rathbone series. Sherlock Holmes shows his mastery of disguise in this film set in 1940s war-torn London. Our sleuth is now involved in foiling an attempt by the Nazis to steal an experimental bomb sight. Holmes battles the evil Professor Moriarty to save the British war effort and utters the famous lines "This fortress - built by Nature for herself, this blessed plot, this Earth, this realm, this England."
