The Discworld, that is, as created by Terry Pratchett in his riotous series of sci – fi / fantasy books. And as his millions of fans worldwide know, Pratchett's Discworld is populated by a cast of characters straight out of folklore and mythology, only a whole lot funnier.

Take the Wyrd Sisters, for instance (they don't like that handle one bit, by the way), whose story is brought to the small screen in this animated series. A motley trio of hardworking witches, they get mixed up in a royal mess when a murdered king's baby is entrusted to their care. They manage to set things right, but not before almost taking the rap for the evil doings they set out to quash. With nods to (and outright lifts from) Shakespeare and cameo appearances by the Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplin, this is light entertainment with depth, sure to please audiences of all ages.
