Description

When blunt Northern 'lass' Nellie Pickersgill (Hylda Baker) comes to London to look after her ailing father she isn't expecting to have to look after his pub too - a situation made worse by the fact that she's a teetotaller and can't abide drink! Not only is The Brown Cow a bit of a handful, but so is its clientele: wide-boy Charlie, London Underground worker Ali and the gurus of camp-fashion store owners George and Gilbert.
