Martin (Hugo Weaving - 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'/ 'The Matrix Trilogy'), has been blind from birth and doesn't trust anyone, least of all his vindictive housekeeper Celia (Geneviève Picot), who is in love with him and whose sexual advances he rejects.

Martin tries to come to terms with his blindness by taking photographs as 'proof' that the world he imagines is the same as sighted people see. When he meets Andy (Russell Crowe - 'L.A. Confidential'/ 'Gladiator'), an amiablle kitchen hand, Martin feels at last that he has found a friend he can trust. However Celia becomes jealous of their friendship and decides to take her revenge...

An Australian production 'Proof' was the winner of six AFIs (Aussie Oscars) in 1991. It also garnered debut Writer/ Director Jocelyn Moorhouse the 1991 Cannes Golden Camera Award, the Bronze Award at the 1992 Tokyo International Film Festival and the 1992 Critics Award at the São Paulo International Film Festival.
