A double bill of special effects meister Ray Harryhausen films. In 'The First Men on the Moon' a team of UN astronauts are planning a trip to the moon and in the process meet a man (Edward Judd) who claims that he and 2 others landed on the moon 65 years previously, where they were attacked by an ant-like lifeform known as the Selenite. The UN crew have to then decide how to attempt their lunar landing knowing they could be attacked. In 'Earth vs the Flying Saucers', a flying saucer arrives at a US airbase looking for help in saving a dying planet. The inhabitants have tried to contact a Dr. Russ Marvin (Hugh Marlowe) to let Earth know they have come in peace, but the army opens fire and the fleet of UFOs that is waiting in the sky has to retaliate. With the task of trying to save the entire human race, Dr Marvin has to find the aliens' achilles heel.
