Its Germany, and 1916. Indiana Jones is a young soldier in the Belgian army, fighting in the Battle of Somme.

He is stuck in the 'Trenches of Hell', and is disillusioned with the life, and death, war brings. In this stresful time he becomes depressed about even his own existence. His despair peaks when he is captured by the Germans and confined to a POW camp. Here, however, he meets fellow POW Charles de Gaulle, and together they find the will to live, and go about hatching a daring escape…
