Guillaume Depardieu stars as Pierre, whose life is shattered by the revelation that he has a sister, Isabelle (Golubeva), whose existence has been kept secret by his mother (Deneuve). Mysterious and mournfully beautiful, Isabelle is the illusory figure that has haunted his dreams. Through her, Pierre seeks to uncover the truth of the world, its lies, masquerades and ambiguities –a destructive quest that threatens to consume him and those he loves.
