Description
Alex Cox's controversial and gritty tale of the infamous couple 'Sid and Nancy' is on DVD for the first time, as part of the Director's Chair Collection.
Sid Vicious (Gary Oldman), bass guitarist with the notorious punk band The Sex Pistols, is inseparable from girlfriend Nancy Spungen (Chloe Webb). Together they lead a tempestuous life of sex and drugs until, one tragic night in 1978, when Nancy is found stabbed to death in New York's Chelsea Hotel. Sid is accused of her murder and arrested, but the case never reaches court as four months later, after being released on bail, Sid dies from a heroin overdose.
This cult classic, along with its stunning soundtrack, has been recognised as the definitive word on the punk phenomenon, bringing the viewer as close as possible to understanding the ravaged pair.
