A brutal tour through the final days of the Soviet Red Army. Zyrin, Belikov and Elin are just three of the recruits trying to survive the last 100 days before becoming real soldiers. But even those who pass may not survive their release.

Avoiding formal narrative the vignettes of the film slowly blend to form a story of frustration and despair, similar to what the entire Soviet bloc faced at that time. The young soldiers go through their daily routine of washing each other, eating together, training together with no will of their own. Subdued, they wander through their alarmingly compelling and overtly homoerotic, insular world.
