The breathtaking production design and vibrant colour broke new ground and genius director Michael Powell assembled man astonishing talents to bring his vision to the screen - dancers Moira Shearer, Robert Helpmann, Ludmilla Tcherina and Leonide Massine, actors Anton Walbrook and Marius Goring and cinematographer Jack Cardiff, who was awarded the prestigious Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Oscar ceremony in March 2001.
