Based on James Herriot’s autobiographical best sellers If Only They Could Talk and It Shouldn’t Happen to a Vet. All Creatures Great and Small kickstarted the Herriot hysterias that culminated in along running TV series.

All Creatures Great and Small is an insight into the first few years in the life of a newly qualified vet during the ‘thirties. James Herriot (Simon Ward) arrives at a tiny village in the beautiful Yorkshire hills where he is to begin work as assistant to the eccentric local vet Siegfried Farmon (Sir Anthony Hopkins). Together they battle the mistrust of the local farmers and ‘patients’ that range from pampered pooches to pregnant ponies and soon become popular members of the close-knit rural community.
