Gary Starke (Andy Garcia) is a ticket tout extraordinaire who has talent, wit and an honour-among thieves philosophy. But his world is about to be turned upside down when his girlfriend, Linda (Andie MacDowell), tired of his broken promises dumps him and pursues her dream to become a chef in Paris. To top it off, there is the appearance of Casino, a ruthless rival, who threatens to invade Gary's patch and become the new "ticket master".

With his livlihood and the girl he loves at risk, Gary has one chance to redeem himself. It comes with news that Pope John Paul II is coming to New York for a one time only Easter Mass at yankee Stadium. This could be just what Gary has been praying for - the last big score - his ticket out of this world and and the best chance to deliver all he's ever promised to Linda. If only he can pull it off in time...
