Description
Because of his lowly rank, humble sailor Ralph Rackstraw cannot marry Captain Corcoran's daughter Josephine. Since Josephine can't bear her other suitor, Sir Joseph Porter, the unlikely First Lord of the Admiralty, she and Ralph elope, but are betrayed by jealous seaman Dick Deadeye.
