Description

Phillip Ashton arrives home but has temporarily lost his sight. Jean Ashton is devastated by her youngest son's death and becomes increasingly unwell. Freda meets a charming older man.

Clash by Night
Phillip is returning home and although blinded still 'recognises' someone from the war. Sefton has a 'heart problem' bringing Tony and Jenny home on false pretences.

Salute the Happy Morn
Christmas preparations are underway although Jean is still mourning Robert and bickering with Edwin. Freda goes to visit Michael and Phillip returns with spectacles.

I Wanted To Be With You
Phillip has regained his sight and is enjoying being back at home. Jean forgets Phillip's party and visits Sefton for solace - then disappears.

Jean is unwell and behaving strangely which is irritating and hurting Edwin. Edwin finally squares up to Sefton. Freda is surprised when her mother is admitted with a stroke.
