Following a car crash, Hiroski finds he can’t remember everything. However, once he’s in medical school, he attends his first dissection only to discover it’s the body of his girlfriend who died in the crash. The more he dissects the body, though, the more his memory comes back to him. Shown with minimal dialogue, Vital is a visual treat, disturbing and compelling in equal measures. A disturbing and yet compelling love story.
