In this romantic comedy, Matthew McConaughey plays Tripp, a thirtysomething slacker who is content to remain living at his parents' house, getting his mother (Kathy Bates) to do his laundry, while he gets on with the serious business of lazing around. In order to force Tripp to finally flee the nest, his parents hire beautiful and vivacious Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker) to pretend to fall in love with him and convince him to move out. What follows is a romantic battle of wills as Tripp does his best to keep hold of his easy life.
