Filmed over a period of two years, and co-scripted by famous naturalist Gerald Durrell (My Family and other Animals), Tarka the Otter follows the life of a young otter as he struggles to survive following the death of his mother, meets White Tip, a young female otter, and comes face-to-face with the fearsome Deadlock - the otter-hound that killed his mother. Set in the 1920s - a time when otter-hunting was still legal - and based on the novel by Henry Williamson, the story of Tarka the Otter has enthralled children the world over.
Originally released in 1978, the story of Tarka the Otter has continued to captivate both children and adults, and this special edition DVD release brings the magical story to a whole new generation.
