Description
Ken Russell's sensuous film version of DH Lawrence's The Rainbow follows his Academy Award Winning adaptation of Women In Love and stars Sammi Davis (Hope And Glory, A Prayer For The Dying), Paul McGann (TV's Our Mutual Friends), Amanda Donohoe (Circus) and Glenda Jackson (Women In Love).
Set in the Midlands of Victorian England, The Rainbow tells the story of a rebellious young woman (Davis) who after defying her parents and society's morality, engages in an unbridled and passionate affair first with her beautiful school teacher (Donohoe), Then with a fascinating young soldier (McGann), before setting out on her own to capture the fuller sensuality of life itself.
