All-singing, all-dancing musical romance set in an all-American high school. Troy (Zac Efron) is the popular captain of the basketball team, while shy and brainy Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) is a member of the academic club. When they both secretly audition for the leads in the school's musical, they find themselves challenging the unspoken rules of East High School as they fall in love and reach for the stars.
