'Rumpole and the Case of Identity' finds Rumpole at odds with the police over a case of possible mistaken identity. 'Rumpole and the Show Folk' sees the barrister hired to represent an actress in a murder trial. 'Rumpole and the Fascist Beast' has Rumpole defend a known fascist who is being charged under the Race Relations Act. 'Rumpole and the Course of True Love' sees Rumpole get involved when a teacher is accused of seducing a student. Finally, in 'Rumpole and the Age of Retirement', the barrister works on a case involving the enforced retirement of an elderly couple.
