Box set containing five movies from popular director Francois Truffaut. In 'The Man Who Loved Women' (1977), Bertrand Morane (Charles Denner) is a charming ladies' man, who loves every woman he meets. However, when he decides to reveal all in his autobiography, he encounters the beautiful and elusive Genevieve (Brigitte Fossey). Could he really be falling in love at last? 'The Wild Child' (1969) is the true story of a boy found living alone in France in the 18th century. The boy is admitted to the National Institiute for the Deaf and Dumb in Paris, where his case is taken up by Doctor Itard (Truffaut). However, hard times lie ahead for both the boy and the doctor, when his integration into society proves harder than expected. 'Mississippi Mermaid' (1969) is the tale of a young millionaire (Jean-Paul Belmondo) and his mail-order fiancee (Catherine Deneuve) on the tropical Isle de Reunion. Tobacco tycoon Louis Mahe (Belmondo) is completely enraptured by Julie Rouselle (Deneuve) and when she disappears without a trace he will stop at nothing to find her. This decision eventually entangles him in a relentless obsession which ends in cold blooded murder. In 'The Story of Adele H' (1975) Isabellel Adjani stars as Adele, the daughter of Victor Hugo, who follows her womanising lover (Bruce Robinson) across the Atlantic in order to resume their affair. Finally, in 'The Bride Wore Black' (1967) Julie (Jeanne Moreau) is stopped from leaping to certain death out of a high window by her mother. Mysteriously, she's dressed head to foot in black and highly distraught. Julie brightens up though and announces an imminent trip to cheer herself up, though it is only a ruse. Her niece, there to make sure she gets on the train, waves goodbye and the woman in black promptly slips out of the other side of the carriage. Next her hair has changed though she's still in black - looking absolutely stunning and asking people at a party where she can find a man called 'Bliss'. The party is Bliss' (Claude Rich) stag night - he's a rich playboy and he's immediately drawn to the lady in black, unsure whether he remembers her from his past.
