A fresh, distinctive and award-winning British film about twentysomething Londoners growing up and apart. Writer/director Jamie Thraves makes his feature-film debut with The Low Down, a wryly perceptive drama about growing up - when you're not even sure that's what you want to do.
Aidan Gillen stars as Frank, a restless young man in his late twenties whose life revolves around his friends and his work. He's aware of a need to move his life into another gear, but while he knows something has to change, he's not sure what or how. Some of his friends are already settling down - he knows he's expected to follow suit sooner or later. Frank's indecision comes to a head when he becomes involved with Ruby (Kate Ashfield), whose optimistic and fresh approach to life and its problems begins to have a dramatic effect on him.
