Screened by the BBC between 1978 and 1981, Blake's 7
was a ground-breaking science-fiction series that captured
the imagination of a nation. It was the brainchild of Terry
Nation, the writer who was previously responsible for
unleashing the Daleks onto an unsuspecting Dr. Who
audience, and became a cult legend in its own time.
Set in a distant future in which Earth and her colonies are
ruled by a dictatorship known as the 'Federation', B7 sees
Blake and his renegade crew of the Liberator fighting a
desperate guerrilla war against the all-powerful regime.
With its intelligent storylines and intriguing characters, B7
managed to surpass some extremely poor special effects to
create an epic, galaxy-spanning saga that was both riveting
to watch and highly unpredictable to the very end.
