SEND IT & Outside Lab Team Up
We partnered with CU denver / outside lab to test validate and innovated our High Roller V2 tailgate pad.
The CU Outside Lab (part of the University of Colorado ecosystem) specializes in testing outdoor gear in both lab and real-world environments. Their work combines controlled testing methods with field use to understand how products actually hold up to weather, wear, and heavy use.
What’s Being Tested
The CU Outside Lab has been working with Send It to test and validate key performance areas of the High Roller tailgate pad, including:
- Material durability
- Abrasion resistance from simulated scouring pads, impact and rebound resistance
- Stitch and strap strength/failure points
- Strap function and hardware performance under repeated use
- And much more
The goal of this testing is to validate that Send It tailgate pads meet a high standard of quality and longevity, not just when they’re new, but after hard, repeated use.
This isn’t just in-house testing; it’s guided by an independent lab focused on outdoor gear performance. The partnership centers on making sure the pad holds up over time: repeated shuttle laps, long road trips, rough weather, and daily use. Insights from lab testing are paired with real-world field testing to understand how the pad performs when it’s loaded with bikes and driven on actual roads and trails.

The CU Outside Lab partnership is not a one-and-done project. Send It and CU Outside Lab plan to continue to Test future iterations of the High Roller tailgate pad (both current models and upcoming versions).Apply testing insights to new Send It products, including other bike-related gear and transport solutions. Use data and real-world feedback to make continuous improvements in design, materials, and construction.
